About Us

It all began in 1928, more than 90 years ago, in a picturesque house by the water when Elisabeth Wegeli was introduced to the art of baking Hüppen by her neighbour. Many lovers of chocolates and other delicacies consider Gottlieber Hüppen and Gottlieber products to be the tastiest tidbits available. Gottlieber Hüppen are even part of Switzerland's culinary heritage.

History

The romantic Swiss village of Gottlieben was founded in 1251. One of its most famous inhabitants, Queen Hortense Bonaparte, when she lived at nearby Schloss Arenenberg from 1817 to 1837. Therefore, her famous son, the later emperor of France Louis Napoleon III, also became an aficionadoa of the mouth-watering Gottlieber wafer rolls.

Factory Tour

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Gottieber Hüppen. With pleasure our competent operation specialist will guide you in groups of 10 – and max. 35 persons through our small, excellent manufactory. Here we show you step by step how the Gottlieber Hüppen are produced. At the end of the tour a rich Hüppen tasting buffet waits for you.
